My name is John Wielinga, I am the owner and Head Guide at Get Bent Guide Service. My passion for fishing started at a very young age, as far back as I can remember. Chasing and patterning some of the most elusive fish in freshwater has never been a hobby for me, but more of an obsession. Over the past 10 years I have spent countless hours picking apart many of Michigan's river systems, learning both the waters and the fish. Finding tendencies and patterns day to day and unfolding the unknown around the river's next bend.
One of the things I enjoy most is watching the progression of anglers throughout the day and the following days we spend on the water together, constantly learning and improving. Getting the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion, the fisheries I call home and even better the moments of success with people is what keeps me coming back for more. I am a very patient guide who enjoys fishing with anglers of all experience levels and we are going to have a good time doing it.
